Annual Report

2025–2026 Annual Report

A short look at BullyingCanada’s fiscal year, which ended on 31 March 2026.

What We Do

Rob Benn-Frenette and Katie Thompson (Neu) launched BullyingCanada on 17 December 2006. They were 17 and 14, they’d both been badly bullied, and they’d looked for help and found none. In 2026, it’s a full 24/7/365 support service, answered by hundreds of trained volunteers from across Canada.

Our Lifeline: Bullied Youth Support Network answers by phone, text, and email. Our trained volunteers and professional counsellors work one-on-one with each young person, their parents, and local supports for as long as it takes to end the bullying and help them heal.

We also give presentations about bullying to students, staff, workplaces, and community groups, help schools put a bullying policy in place and enforce it, and send out Lifeline wallet cards.

Where It Came From

Donations brought in $452,231.39, and government rebates and donations brought in $69,986.88.

Where It Went

91% of what we spent went to our programs, most of it keeping the 24/7 Lifeline answering: the phone and text lines themselves, and the people who run them. 6% went to fundraising and 3% to administration.

91%programs
  • Programs 91% $459,726

The 24/7 Lifeline, the people and technology behind it, volunteer training, wallet cards, and printed materials.

  • Fundraising 6% $31,817

Cause marketing, donor mail, and staff time spent raising money.

  • Administration 3% $14,492

Professional and bank fees, memberships, and staff time spent running the charity.

We sorted each line of our 2025–2026 statements into one of these three groups. Wages and other shared costs are split by management’s estimate of staff time: 90% programs, 5% fundraising, 5% administration. Postage is split evenly between program mail and donor mail. The total includes $192,875 of phone and text service donated by a corporate partner, which we count in programs.
