Creating Open Minds and Protecting Children

BullyingCanada’s Lifeline: Bullied Youth Support Network is a 365-day-a-year, 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week national support network. We offer life-changing help to bullied Canadian kids by telephone, email, and text.

This support service is unparalleled in Canada, going far beyond the typical anonymous, one-off counselling advice offered by other charities.

When You Reach Out

What Happens Next

  1. Someone Answers, Fast

On average, a young person is connected directly to a Support Line volunteer in 2.5 minutes. Not sure what to say? Don’t worry. Our Virtual Buddies are friendly and well trained, and they’ll get the conversation started with a few questions.

  2. We Talk It Through, One-on-One

Our volunteers have in-depth, one-on-one conversations with bullied youth and their families to understand what’s happening. They identify the problem, and then they solve it.

  3. We Bring In the People Who Can Stop It

We talk with the kids doing the bullying and their parents; teachers, guidance counsellors, principals, and school board staff; local social services; and, when necessary, local police.

  4. We Stay Until You’re Safe

Typically, BullyingCanada stays proactively involved for two to three weeks, but more complex situations have needed support for months, or a year or more, to resolve.

Our end goal is to end the trauma bullied youth have lived through, and to provide the follow-up care that’s often needed to heal.

We don’t give up on bullied kids until they are safe and can look forward to a brighter future, even if it takes extensive effort to help them live in peace once again.
